How to review the schedule of investments (SOI)
At each period end (every quarter or year), Carta will ask you to verify that your schedule of investments (SOI) is current. This means ensuring:
- All portfolio investments are recorded.
- Valuations for portfolio investments have been adjusted (up or down) as needed.
- Any notes that have converted are accurately reflected.
- Any assets no longer owned by the firm are marked as realized or written off.
These updates will feed into your financial statements, IRR, and other performance metrics that your LPs will be able to review. Many firms update this information continuously and simply confirm it at period end, making your SOI review quick and easy.
Click Review the Schedule of Investments in the email.
- You can also access this task in your Dashboard when you log into your Carta account.
